Weiden/Grafenwöhr: Mile stone for the VdRBw e. V. Kreisgruppe Oberpfalz NORD.
The KrsGrpOPf. Nord and the commander as well as unit commander of the 15th Engineer Battalion Grafenwöhr have sealed their future sponsorship at the meeting on 02 February 2022 in Grafenwöhr. This not only strengthens the relationship with the U.S. comrades, but also lays the foundation for interesting joint events in the future, far beyond the military commitment. In addition to joint military training and camaraderie, the goal is to involve family members and supporters more closely. For this in the future meetings will take place in those also Nichtreservisten can participate. The support of US soldiers newly transferred to Grafenwoehr or Vilseck as well as their families and the integration into regional social life is also part of the sponsorship, according to the head of organization of KrsGrpOPf. NORD, HFw d. R. Hartmut Schütze, who drew a consistently positive conclusion at the end of the meeting. We must stand closer together and show this also openly outward. The partnership with the comrades of the U.S. Armed Forces is an important component, not only for the German Armed Forces and the reservist association, but also for the region. The US comrades and their families have been closely rooted in the region for a very long time. They are not only our NATO partners, but also an important regional employer, added Staff Sergeant Rosner. The joy about this sponsorship is great on both sides and the first concrete joint events are already on the agenda.
